NTPC Kerandari Coal Mining Project in association with the Sports Council of NTPC Coal Mining Projects Hazaribagh kicked off an exciting new tournament titled "Mining Grand Master," showcasing strategic brilliance and competitive spirit. The tournament commenced on July 11, 2024, and will span over three days, concluding with the grand finale on July 14, 2024.
KDCMP organised this Chess Tournament in line with discussions in the Monthly RHOHR review and BODH Survey Action Plan to emphasise upon Work work-life balance of employees and their spouses posted at Hazaribagh Coal Mining.
Shri Shiv Prasad, Head of the Kerandari Coal Mining Project, inaugurated the event, marking a vibrant start to the competition. The tournament features participants from employees of NTPC Coal Mining Projects Hazaribagh, along with their spouses and children from Jigyasa Bal Bhawan.
The tournament's first day saw enthusiastic participation and smooth proceedings, setting a positive tone for the upcoming days. The second day of the event is scheduled for today, July 12, 2024, with more exciting rounds and strategic gameplay anticipated. There are three arbitrators were present to coordinate the event. Shri Vinod Kumar, Chess instructor and senior arbitrator from Naman Vidya School has planned the fixtures and other arrangements.
The "Mining Grand Master" Chess tournament aims to foster mutual trust and a spirit of healthy competition among the participants. As the tournament progresses, all eyes will be on the finale, where the ultimate champions will be crowned.
